Harry Potter Question

Do you pronounce Lord Voldemort's name with the "t"?

Takahama, Valerie. "Enchanted with Potter Literature: Fans line up for hours to get their books signed," The Orange County Register (Santa Ana, CA), 26 October 1999

"Is it Voldemort?" "Or Voldemor?" someone asked about Harry's evil nemesis.

"I say 'Voldemor' but I'm the only one," Rowling, who's from Edinburgh, said with a slight Scottish burr.

I always pronounced it with the "t" until I read this... what about you?

I tend to pronounce it with the final T. But since it's derived from French, I think the T should really be silent.

'Vol de mort' is french for 'flight of death' so 'Voldemort' should really be pronounced without the 't'. I try to but I always forget:/

My mother tongue is french, so I never pronounce the T. It really sounds strange to pronounce it in french.

It depends on your accent. I'm 'Merican, so I say the "t", but French might not, and English/Irish/Scottish might not.

Right... I'm a Filipino and we literally pronounce every letter in a word so I say the "t"

My mother tongue is Greek and we pronounce Voldemort with the "t". However, those who are not familiar with Harry Potter or the english language usually pronounce it as Val de mar, no idea why! :P

I pronounce it with the 't' because when I was really young when I first started reading/watching Potter and didn't know it was silent.

I've always pronounced it with a t, and I always have ever since i was little. That's probably not gonna change because it feels strange not to now! But in the movie they say Voldemort so it's kinda confusing...
